Photo retouches / opinions

Postby traverselive » Fri Mar 19, 2010 7:20 pm

I've been doing photo retouching for a while now, decided to throw up a few I did the other day. These retouches were a favor for a friend, promo pictures of hers. They aren't what I would call complete, but not bad for just sitting down for quickies with lower resolution images to work with. So for the photoshop junkies, lemme know what you think of my retouches. Mainly just color adjustments, eyes on a couple of them and removing stray hairs, and skin smoothing. These were intended for smaller dimension viewing on the web, but I'm uploading them at full size. Notes have been added to each photo to denote which are retouches and originals.

Here's the photo stream on flickr. It's easier to see the minor changes if you download the pictures at full resolution and flip through them at 100% (for those interested in going through the work). The last one in the set has the most drastic changes made to it. (Note: I was not the photographer, i just retouched these photos).

From what I have looked at, I think they look pretty good. I'm not crazy about some of the compositions, but that is for the Photographer to worry about. I don't like the Colour shifts in the first and last; I think the balance is good on the originals. I do like the tinting on the backgound on the first though, if you mask her out it will look 100% better. IMO. :D

Nice! Thanks peter, that's the kind of feedback I was looking for. Much appreciated.
